If you are an avid gardener, you know that you are always looking for new ways to expand your garden. Gardeners are usually creative people, who have many ideas that they would like to see unfold before their eyes. Sometimes, however, it is difficult for gardeners to be creative because they feel like all the good ideas for gardening have already been done. This is not true, however. Every garden is unique; just like snowflakes, no two gardens are the same.
If you feel like you are in a rut with your gardening, have no fear. You probably have not thought about making a rock garden. But we are here to tell you that rock gardens are the gardens of the future.
Some people say that rock gardens are not gardens at all because they do not feature any kind of living organism. However, this is not true for many reasons. Rock gardens are gardens, and they do feature living organisms. Flowers and shrubs may not be the main feature of a rock garden, but this does not mean that they are completely absent.
Making a rock garden does not have to be difficult. Rock gardens are not difficult to maintain either; this isn’t a rock quarry we’re talking about. Some of the only work that rock gardens require is regular weed maintenance. In many rock gardens, the rocks grow in the cracks where the weeds would normally grow and then weed growth decreases significantly. Some gardeners may not like having to remove weeds, but weed removal is just a natural and normal part of gardening. If you do not like weeding, perhaps you should reconsider becoming an expert gardener. Weeds usually must be removed by hand, which can take time. However, your rock garden will seem all the more beautiful if you know you have spent time on and put effort into making it the best that it can be.
